Sick as a dog, and with every little noise getting to my nerves.
Then the TV in the next room falls silent and I can hear birds and planes outside... only for room heater to cycle it's whining fan on then off. The tick of the wind-up clock fills the room. Then the fridge compressor.
Fucking noise pollution. I cough up a lung.
I'm going back to bed.

If an LLM was trained on ethically created opt-in content with explicit context capabilities for training, where anyone can host the open model, and outputs can be audited for attribution, formal verification, and environmental impacts - could that LLM be made ethical? This way you can trace the inputs to the outputs, and output to the inputs for complete transparency. Should it be abused those lessons then be fed back into its capabilities.

@nprofile…ezqw Secure scuttlebutt used a form of dynamic dijkstra to form their web of trust as to who to replicate throughout the network, I imagine something similar could be adapted. Who you trust to audit in the network then determines the integrity of the repos, individuals then see different views of the network of repos based on who they trust. https://github.com/ssbc/dynamic-dijkstra

@nprofile…ezqw I hadn't thought that far ahead, but I imagine it's useless to try verify human vs AI input/ID, and instead verify the output is human-centric, using a form of decentralised Web of Trust where any individuals/algorithms that review code can vouch and label it for others to verify. with the more that verify adding weight that those labels. Potentially requiring a code generation log for each commit for those who wish to audit at the keystroke and timestamp level for human capabilities.

Are there any git hosting platforms that explicitly ban AI/LLM code?

I haven't been much of a gamer since my SNES, Amiga, DOS and Windows XP days. Yesterday I was curious as to how many modern games the second hand i7 8th gen 16gb ram 630 iGPU 1080p laptop and minipc I was given supports on Steam. Of 17,000+ titles, they only meet the minimum requirements for 386, mainly because of the GPU. 386 seems apt. I was gobsmacked at how reliant modern steam gaming is on GPUs. So I went to itch.io instead and played Godot and Unity Engine games in the browser fine... 🙃

I miss purple computers. When I saw a purple computer I knew I was in for a good day.

I was thinking about how to write a cross compatible package manager for operating systems and came to the conclusion that packages need a manifest of what they support, and operating systems need a manifest of hosts they support. With shims for cross compatibility, eg. X11 to wayland to Windows DWM. All the way down to kernels and their components. Such that a universal package manager would build entire distros. Chose components and it knits you cross compatible custom systems. No OS lockin.

@nprofile…ezqw It's a slow work in progress and I'm still in the planning stages trying to grasp the entire vision before I begin implementation. At it's core is freedom to software-define your computing stack from hardware to software and not be locked into any one platform or algorithm that defines you (identity) or your universe (information). The goal is for creators to be able to design the algorithms and virtual machines defining their information and sync them across platforms seamlessly.

I've been working on an Axioms payload for peer distributed software-defined universes. Now I have to make sure it can compute with sand piles.

Trying to find Protopian tags or content to follow...
"A Protopia isn't a state of perfection, but a state of incremental, systemic improvement."
The one that comes to mind is Regenerative Agriculture. As opposed to the middle-ground "Sustainable" or "Renewable".
Radical Decentralization seems to be another. Not just "Decentralization" it has to be radical dude 🤙
Liquid Democracy? Are we pro-democrazy

"Science fiction used to be a wild, fantastical guess about a distant future. Today? It’s basically just a product roadmap for technology companies.
We were aiming for the post-scarcity, exploratory utopia of Starfleet. Instead, we accidentally downloaded the corporate surveillance, cyber-attack, and rogue AI expansion pack" https://www.hardrefresh.life/sci-fi-just-product-roadmap-technology-companies/
Time to split utopian #sci-fi subgenres off into their own genre. #hopepunk #solarpunk #lunarpunk #ecopunk #post-scarcity
