Removing Flock cameras was never about one company. It's about unwarranted mass surveillance. They are trying to build the infrastructure for turnkey tyranny. https://npub1tw64r5m4nm4w4078uhgsll2dhauclwt6kzvm0ur0gkr7lc7c4dks9ap703.blossom.band/2cdfea4040352961a4d2a0c889e149d107fb8aced87acb13c92eb5e79849d401.jpg

I really like the concept of people being able to easily tip people for the content that they want valuable.
I also really like how Twitter's "we need monthly payments due to bots" is disproven with a cheap payment to an established relay server. A $1 payment is nothing for one account, but for 10,000 bots that becomes $10K.
All without forcing you to turn over personal information, which saves you again even more.
It's really great and the only issue I see with #nostr is that it's a very crypto-heavy... which is all great, but if you're not interested in crypto then I don't imagine your feed will interest you unless there's other content.

What's absolutely exciting about #nostr is that if people flock to it due to censorship of other platforms like X, it will retain and grow exponentially.
And it can't be stopped or censored like X can be.
While still allowing various controls to protect people's identities or verify identities depending on each user's login.
This plaform is EPIC for free speech.

hydrofluoric acid is a small molecule that absorbs very easily into the skin and body tissues, but it reacts with Calcium.
You'll know you've touched it when your skeleton feels like it's on fire.
If you don't know you were exposed to it, you'll just look like some crazy person acting like you're on fire. Otherwise, if you can get help quickly, a calcium injection can save you.
That probably won't happen though.

"convenience above all else" applies until people internalize understanding and values worth making an effort.
It may be the status quo, but we don't need to accept it. It can change when people understand what's at stake and what they can do about it.

Plus your work results in improvements like having your cloud data encrypted such that only you hold the keys, and this will sync just fine with your Mac or PC. You just use less Apple apps and start using alternatives available, often with very good FOSS alternatives.
Who cares if it's more work for you than Apple? All that matters is you and your soviergnty. You carried around that iPhone around like a safety blanket, but did you really need to?
