fuck comments on git forges... seriously. the ux is soooooo awfully bad.
i just lost an hour of work because i press one button in their SHITTY REACTIVE SINGLE PAGE THAT ISNT REALLY A SINGLE PAGE BUT OH WELL XDDD UI that happens to sometimes decide to let buttons unload whatever components where there but not all the time so sometimes it retains it and sometimes it doesnt
whoever came up with "yea well maybe we can let people argue on there and write lengthy comments but never actually save what they're about to type" deserves to suffer
return to fucking git sendmail, at least most mail clients warn you before you close the window and you lose whatever you were composing
i cannot fucking believe i am unironically typing out these words: but fuckign emacs has better ui than whqatever this crap is.

@nprofile…s2sp ehhh i mean the answer there is honestly more complicated than you'd think. The sad reality is that most android hardware just isn't secure enough that you wouldn't want your ID on such a device in the first place, I get why somewhere down the line they thought attestation was a good idea.
There's genuinely competent people working for some of the govts involved who actually want it done right, they pushed for a model of least-data-egress (for whatever ur trying to do), as well as tried to avoid complete reliance upon us-providers.
It's just that the buerocrats neither listen to nor even understand those voices and instead push for whatever "product" is fastest to shit out, in the hopes its gonna be fine.

@nprofile…s2sp ehhhh youll see that crap across the board.
there's pretty much no desireable option that supports fcm/gcm and without that, if you want to run background tasks at all, you're just sort of fucked.
you could probably try juxtaposing some setup where you either set up ntfy/novu or something alike as "out of band" syncing/notification thingies.
other than that, maybe try disabling battery optimizations or similar features on thunderbird?

get yourselves into positions where you can confidently deal with things.
all signs are pointing towards a situation where shit is probably about to get nasty left and right.
you are going to prevail, you are going to make it, obsessively thinking about the opposite is both a waste of time and turns failure into a self-fulfilling prophecy, don't doom, it's not good.

should C enums with less than < (sizeof enum int type in bits) entries just be bitflags instead of seperate values?
i think it makes a lot of sense from a optimization perspective.
think of
enum Something {
A = 0,
B,
C,
D,
E,
..
};
If you now want to check if s of type Something is either A, C, D or E, you end up with 3 comparisons.
whereas representing it as bitflags, you could just do like (1 << A) | (1 << C) | (1 << D) | (1 << E) at compiletime, perform a single bitwise AND, and you're done?
