Attention dudes and dudettes, and lovely in-betweeners.
First time ever in my life I ran a whole 5k and a little extra. And when I say run, I mean "jogged but not walked". Still a major thingie for an old guy like me.

I've been considering setting up a PeerTube site for my personal videos. Is there any defense against Ai bots doing a DDOS? Can they be pre-perma-banned?

Have you had any vacations that went totally awry and terrible, but are now funny? Do tell!
(I post HoosierFunQ on Mondays about personal Qs, and HoosierLifeQ on Thursdays about regional/cultural Qs. This is for #HoosierMast and the #Hoosier diaspora, but Hoosiers-at-heart can answer too.)

Hey there, #HoosierMast .
My good buddies and I from the #LafayetteIN #magic club are putting on a family-friendly #MagicShow on Sunday October 19. Location is at MatchBOX Coworking Studio in downtown Lafayette.
It is a pay-what-you-want event (even nothing).

An old-style shaving brush and a puck of shaving soap is much of a better value than cans. Seriously! A can is gone in a month or two. A puck lasts at least double that, for less money. Also, the #1 ingredient in a can is water. I happen to have a lot of that at home, that I can add to the soap to make a lather.
Also, don't get me started about the economy of cartridge razors vs. double-blade safety razors, which when I'm done, can be recycled.

That's called "kettle logic" and Republicans use it all the time.
The Wikipedia article about the tactic is interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettle_logic

As a follow-up to a post to @npub1tx7…gew8 from a couple weeks ago.
#PurdueUniversity is having a campus voting location TOMORROW at the "Co-Rec" (Recreational Facility). I'm a Purdue employee and didn't know about it until a colleague mentioned it today, so I must have missed it in our daily announcements.
The location well trafficked. Thousands of students & staff will walk by it. But it's only one day, tomorrow.
Vote!

I know everyone's shocked, but it's intentionally difficult to vote absentee in Indiana. You must prove residency here, and I would think that would be enough to scare away must students.
You also must swear to an accepted reason for voting absentee.
That being said, they would still have a couple of weeks to do this.
However it might be simpler to vote at the City Hall location a couple blocks from campus. So get it the word to #Purdue students.

I work at #Purdue University, so I'm getting my MSIT in their online school Purdue Global. I'm a professional software developer, so... maybe this is within my reach? After graduation in May '25, I will have so much more free time!

I saw this pretty lady last night. Her body was about the size of a penny. I don't want to be species-ist, but does anyone know what kind she is?
