It's so fucking confusing. People use their words to alienate you & show hostility but hide behind what they *didn't say*, & when you point out what they didn't *say* but did *mean*, they tell you you're wrong.

So in situations where my social instincts actually might be *correct*, I have gotten in trouble for *not* taking someone's words literally & feel I have been *forced* to be "overly literal".
