I was thinking exactly the same yesterday when listening to TheGuySwann (npub1kzu…rf4g)’s podcast 639 on fedimint. Elon is thinking more of the WeChat approach where a corp is trusted by millions. It might work for western societies that have lost trust in their local communities. But in order to reach the billions, I agree the solution needs to be hyper-localized. After a week spent on Nostr, I could imagine the custodians being trusted with more than just the keys to the money…
