Gm nostriches, happy Friday freaks. First Friday of term with a 9am session to attempt to get sleeping minds thinking……. Maybe talk to them about “why we sleep” and organise to see them later in the day when their brains are actually working.

Interesting SoftBank news yesterday about their massively high yielding AI investment bonds (https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/softbank-issues-111-billion-bonds-openai-financing-push-2026-09-24/), 10%? 😮‍💨 to me it feels like a pretty safe investment, so to get that level of yields, i can see why other’s were dumping sovereign yields, US 10y at 5.2% just showing it was not happy with the competition, and UK quietly being taken out the woodshed for the only humane option.

And so, the economy measured in terms gold, currently in a massive downtrend, as the perpetual motion machine of AI scalers start to lose momentum and people look for safety and that is no longer bonds…….. no chance of an “inverted yield curve” predictor this time, unless central banks really start to hikes their rate……. Holy crap, I may be beginning to understand more of the economic “newspeak” we’ve been getting fed (no pun intended).

Also, the value of my fiat bank balance has reduced by around 9% in the last week, 😳 yes, for those eagle eyed out there, that is only 3.5% off the 12.5% a week that represents hyperinflation. Time to stack my “New Weimar” brethren.
