I struggled to use a black backdrop for mini photography, maybe the fabric I used was not adequate.

So I painted a simple backdrop with acrylic paints and copy paper as a test.

Then I took some photos. No editing of any kind, just a picture with the phone at 2x zoom with a tripod.

The results are WAY better than what I expected.

Next I think will be applying mat varnish to protect it and avoid reflections, and make more to try different color combinations.
