there are BIG reasons to be EXTREMELY skeptical of how the base technology is being developed & deployed, and by whom, and where the money is going.
but by turning it into a crusade, some people who'd be quite inclined along those lines, will instead be repelled, and potential energy which could've been actualized into keeping the many problems in check, will instead go somewhere else.
