Now I'm trying to write up a sequence to get them to calculate the mass of CO2 produced in one day in the US alone and it's super, super depressing.

I'm trying to connect our own actions to climate change, but we're rural. We depend on vehicles and machines. Many of the kids farm. Is this exercise helpful for them? Or just depressing?

Maybe a better comparison is one tank of gas to a billionaire's jet.
