"content": "You don't trust anyone else—not billionaire-run social networks, not instances managed by strangers with moderation policies that might separate you from your friends and favorite accounts.\n\nSo you've decided it's time to create your own instance, whether for yourself, your family, or a small community.\n\nBut you're unsure how to do it! You're not tech-savvy, and you're worried it won't work, that you'll fail, or that you won't be able to secure your new instance properly.\n\nFortunately, some companies now offer to set up an instance for you and handle all the technical aspects: installation, system updates, security, and more. All you need to do is manage it and enjoy it.\n\n:friendica: :mastodon: :pixelfed: :funkwhale: :lemmy: :hubzilla: :peertube:\n\nAt least, that's the promise. 🙂 \n\nThe website https://joinfediverse.wiki/Hosting_an_instance lists some companies currently offering this service. It also provides a guide to help you choose the best host for your needs and outlines the questions you should consider.\n\nFrom there, it's up to you to research the prices and terms of the companies you're interested in.\n\nHas anyone here used the services from any of these companies? Is it really easy for non-technical people to install and manage an instance?\n\n#opensource #fediverse #hosting #SelfHosting\n\nhttps://social-cdn.vivaldi.net/system/media_attachments/files/114/513/713/695/949/527/original/7cf38390e8b005f5.png\nhttps://social-cdn.vivaldi.net/system/media_attachments/files/114/513/745/041/608/674/original/63221ba8a2b5537e.png",
