The one I'm referring to looked like it but obviously wasn't. The UI was text mode but with enough characters changed so they could make the window borders etc.
I just remember being amused by their choice.
And yeah, I've also seen those Compaqs, but in their implementation I recall the setup was a hidden partition at the end of the disk; I remember learning this the hard way when I got a new in box machine, nuked the Windows with Linux installation without caring much about the partitions and later realized there was no way to enter the setup any more.
