This is not true.

This is not true either, I build binaries that runs from kernel 3.x up to the latest 7.1.x

Windows and MacOS are not better on this regard.

>>* Drivers are either in the kernel today, or there's a dedicated team maintaining them out of kernel (like nvidia and openzfs people do), or you can fuck off. You can thank stable-api-nonsense.rst for this. Truly and laughably atrocious justification for the lack of skill.

The driver situation is because companies refuse to open their code, the internal kernel interface instability is on purpose to prevent companies from proliferating closed drivers. This works as intended, you might not like it but again the project is a success, the world runs on Linux.

>>On a related note, most Linux distros either are in the process or have already removed GTK2 and all software that used it, despite it being perfectly fine. That's Linux for you.

Nothing stops you from forking GTK2 and keep using it.

I do agree that the stability of the libraries in user-land leaves to be desired, but again Linux is not a monolithic entity, go complain to Gnome about the GTK nonsense.

Look, I'm not going to convince you of anything, to me all of this reads I want to download my .exe file, run it, click next->next->next and be done with it.

Well Linux is not that.
