You hit a point that we, as decent human beings (I know I am not a "good" human being) need to say something when we see something. We lost that we they retreated in the USA after the civil rights movement.
We have to be vocal and be loud about that not being acceptable. It will not be easy.
I want to say I am sorry that you have experienced that. I can't imagine it, and I owe it to you to do better about calling it out.
