there's probably some gotchas, but I'm down to clown honestly. The supply chain risk with nixpkgs becoming slop and maintainers stepping down because the steering committee is dysfunctional is getting to me. better my efforts go toward a real community project than that mess.

I'd probably think differently if forking nixpkgs was a reasonable thing to do. I love that monstrosity, but I can't afford to keep one as a pet.
