Claude Opus 8 is worthless in chat. Minutes to respond. And this is with a Max account. Thankfully I don't pay for that account. I have heard of bad results in Claude Code too but I have already switch largely to opencode and using large open weight models through nano-gpt.
The only proprietary model I trust for general chat is Perplexity.
