i set up a pixelfed instance with seemingly some overlapping objectives as kinkyelephant a year ago and even reached out to artists, SWers, content creators, and sex educators who have been the victim of censorship on instagram, X, and bluesky, yet, despite the interest, it hasn't had enough traction to outweigh the costs.
i'd love to keep it running, though. i'd be curious to know how we might be able to collaborate or devise a strategy that brings more people as well as contributors into the fold. we're all stronger together, after all, and we might share a mission / principles.
(the instance is down atm but the description is available on Liberapay https://liberapay.com/exposur.es if you're curious)
i'm actually planning to migrate to https://bonfirenetworks.org/ when it's available, so if we're both considering shutting down but would prefer to keep supporting people by giving them a censorship-free safe haven, maybe we could find a way to merge our efforts somehow on an emtirely new platform
