I had to notarize an affidavit for the first time since the new CPLR rule went into effect last year that allowed for sworn affirmations rather than affidavits in New York (affirmations have been allowed under the FRCP for a long time). Since I started the new job, I haven't taken any acknowledgments, either. I'm glad my stamp didn't dry out. #law
