Well the strings make a massive difference, sound, and maybe tension and so action - it’s suddenly too LOW (I know, I can’t believe I said that either) - I mean, maybe the repair wasn’t just cosmetic either, I don’t know.

I only just set the action where I thought it needed to be before this repair - by sanding the bottom off the saddle. Now I want it back, LOL. Having said that, it’s awfully nice this way, plus you learn about your fret surfaces when it’s this low, found out the second fret was still a bit high on the bass side, and it still looks like some body rise.

Still tuning it upwards, waiting for the strings to settle and kind of hoping the wood will too, a little.

The tuners still suck. 😠
