All of America's problems with soccer can be summed up by the fact that college soccer is a fall sport instead of a spring sport. It's not a sport for everybody, it's a sport for people who think they're too good for American football, America-hating pussies, in other words. As a spring sport it might be able to carve itself a niche next to college baseball in the broader consciousness, but as it stands, soccer is completely divorced from any sort of grassroots American sports energy. SEC psychopathy is completely untapped as far as men's soccer is concerned, and is instead conceded to shit like women's softball.
