I‘m a „dog guy“…but
Lilly is lying on my chest purring.
I can literally feel the vibrations traveling through my entire body.
Cats typically purr at a fundamental frequency of around 20–30 Hz with additional vibrations reaching up to approximately 150 Hz.
These low frequencies overlap with ranges being studied in vibration research for their potential effects on bone growth, tissue regeneration and healing.
The healing effects of cat purring on humans aren’t scientifically proven but the connection is fascinating to me.
