The public wants #AI to cure cancer etc and would be willing to fund that but the rich are paying to develop a labor replacement machine cause they aren't wealthy enough. People who say the new tech helps them do their job never say they couldn't live without it. While trying to build the latter also threatens every computer system connected to the internet.
