I hate it when men are willfully ignorant about this movie. She wasn't obsessed with some guy who she had a one night stand with on a ship years ago she was looking for freedom and independence in a time where women didn't have any and Jack represented that for her. That's why she still loved him when she was 100 years old.
(She didn't have to jump back onto the sinking ship for him though no man is worth that)
