NEW: Binance is shutting down its bitcoin mining pool on November 10, and most of the hashrate had already left.
Binance Pool directed about 26 EH/s in December, roughly 2.3% of the network, per Hashrate Index. It now sits near 9.2 EH/s, under 1%.
Remaining miners have four weeks to point their machines elsewhere.
The bigger question is where that hash lands. Foundry USA, AntPool and F2Pool already produce about 64% of blocks.
Pools choose which transactions go into blocks, so every exit narrows that choice.
