Practice isn't you noodling around or just jamming, it's a specific thing you do with a validating mechanism that you got the hang of it at least and can dial it in even better.
I see it all over the place and even got into an argument with my boss about this recently - practice is a specific thing you do to instill a performative reflex.
You get into the parts of why practice is hard to just do and how the practice structure are daunting and humiliating, but that can be toyed with at least. Having to practice though...no, you gotta find a way to cultivate your skills.
I'm not a good musician, I don't practice, but I get it in every domain where I dabble for my own fun.
