This song is one I performed in the years when I was a pinch hitter in music circles. When directors I had worked with were coming up on concerts, if their soprano section was a little thin or sometimes even the altos, they'd bring me in to stand at the back and help shore things up: nail the entrances, hold the line, instill some confidence, pull the section through the tricky bits.
I was immensely flattered every time.
