I've just seen the stupidest thing ever: I've received a new SIM card from Deutsche Telekom. Instead of just printing the PIN on the accompanying letter, the letter contains something labelled "QR Code PIN" that you have to scan with your smartphone. Except, it's not an actual QR code, it's a fucking data matrix code. So to figure out which PIN to enter into my 5G CPE, I had to first install a DataMatrix reader app before I could decode the ASCII-encoded PIN.
