I have never properly used matrix, but all I generally hear is that it has bugs like this that affect communities badly and servers having performance issues. I wonder why this is. Obviously you guys running your own instance would know best but enabling something like invite only on large channels guess makes it hard to synchronize the state of who is meant to read messages or not? is it encrypted at that point? hmm

i dont intend to start a protocol battle buy as a long time IRC user I feel for public channels and project discussions (even private rooms) IRC does most things, yes there is no image uploads, probably the most annoying thing but at least its stable and within our control?
