It is funny to think that in 2015 I was sat in Newhaven worried about cycling across France for the first time (from Dieppe to Strasbourg via Paris). In the ferry terminal I met a lady in her 70s named Janet who (IIRC) was cycling to Spain by herself then cycling to the Netherlands. She gave me the confidence to keep going as well as tips. It turned out France was much nicer to cycle in than the UK.
