Two years ago I began choking at the dinner table on a fried oyster. I grabbed at my throat and my eyes bulged. My family sitting at the table did not move a muscle as I slowly choked to death. After twenty seconds of me staring at them in agony it was apparent that they wanted me dead. There was hardly an expression of fear nor even surprise as I resorted to giving myself the heimlich maneuver with my chair. I eventually dislodged the oyster and passed out. We do not ever speak of this event.
