All signs are pointing to a massive crackdown on AI. It could happen very, very quickly, because politicians are getting hammered on this issue on a bipartisan basis. Polls show something between 70 and 80% of Americans want firms held responsible for AI, and data centers stopped. And those numbers are rising. This is now a mainstream media issue every day, not a techie one. This is across the board politically. That is a rare aspect indeed. Unfortunately, or maybe not, Section 230 will probably be shredded in the process, which will dramatically impact social media as firms pull back. Perhaps a good thing in the end. The Rubicon has been passed, the shark has been jumped. The AI firms have nobody to blame but their Billionaire Trump-lovin' CEOs selves.
