I ordered a 100W USB C cable. I received a not-100W USB C cable. It doesn't charge my laptop. I'm returning it.
However, have you tried explaining the problem to a blessedly normal person in your household whose brain hasn't been addled by technology? They don't understand, and nor should they have to! The whole thing is a complete mess.
