Message to American companies: many of us, in the rest of the world, can perfectly understand English, and often speak more than one language! Actually, look at your own country: there are loads of bilingual Americans.
It's 2025 and I'm installing a bloody Firefox extension so that YouTube doesn't automatically translate any titles or dub any sound tracks in any videos.
And this is because YouTube not only assumes that, since I have my language set to English, that must be the only language I speak, so I must want AI-translated slop; but also doesn't offer a setting to just turn the blood thing off!
Is anyone doing product management anymore in Big Tech? I have the feeling it's all done randomly.
