* Established the first church in Alaska.
* Learned several native languages and devised alphabets for them in order to translate service texts and scripture for them.
* carpenter: literally built the church, furniture, and mechanical organs (akin to what you'd find in a carousel.)
* Kayaked the Bering strait in winter to deliver liturgy and eucharist to the natives.
* Ended his run as Metropolitan of Moscow (a job with a big hat.)
