Qwant Buy European too :p
Qwant 🇫🇷 has acquired its French competitor, the "solidarity" search engine Lilo.org. Founded in 2014 and based in Paris, Lilo.org donates 80% of its profits to charitable projects.
Qwant aims to increase its advertising audience and refine its search tools with this acquisition. Lilo.org has about 4.2 million monthly visits compared to Qwant's 29 million. Both search engines rely on Microsoft's Bing index, though Qwant is working to reduce this dependence.
No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed.
