Just more BS to scare women into coupling with a man for “security” that actually is an illusion. He is always a threat to her physical safety and she’s not guaranteed to not be alone in old age as in most families there’s at least one kid that never comes around. In some families it’s all kids. My mom is 1 for 3. My dad is 1 for 3 (and in his case, my brother isn’t gonna know how to handle shit when problems get real). The chances of the man leaving at some point are high. He will want another woman who is younger, has never gotten sick, etc. And yes, men leave at alarming rates when you’re sick (oncologists have to warn female patients). So the idea that I would have to “pay” by breeding with a man in order to not be alone in old age is such a farce. That woman is a boomer. I can’t say GenX is a lot different because most did couple up and have kids. The greater shift seems to be with millennials and of course that trend will continue. And yes I rather be old and alone than to be tied to a man who doesn’t give a shit about me as I toiled as his source of sex and free maid. I rather be alone than to have sacrificed everything to have kids (who then may disappear anyway).
