Truly sorry that you feel that way and even more so leaving Mastodon for that. I once had the same false expectation about users here, then quickly realized that people will always be the same no matter which platform they choose to be on.

I was once being targeted and received countless racist and threatening messages simply because somehow someone found out I’m gay. Then one LGBTQ owned instance reported -me- because I shared the screenshots of those horrible messages..
