Facebook distorted our concept of relationships by digging up everyone we ever knew, went to school with, are remotely related to, and convinced us that it was normal and even essential that we interact with these people regularly. Before Facebook, we found ways to keep in touch with people who are important to us, and (naturally, properly) allowed others to fade away. So people are used to having high school classmates they HATED in high school "liking" their posts. That's not normal!
