"I'll lose contact with my friends and family if I leave Facebook" is reason number one for not leaving Facebook, but here's something you should know. The people who can't be bothered to email you or at least search the internet for your name were never really important to you. That includes family. My siblings and I stay in touch through Signal, email, and the occasional short message. Other people can easily find me if they make the tiniest effort, and vice versa.
