Water glassing fresh eggs that still have the bloom on them works. The eggs end up with a consistency that's a little different from fresh eggs after 6 months or so, but they're not spoiled.

I did water glassing in a 5 gallon bucket after I first got chickens and was getting completely overwhelmed with eggs. I eventually just started chucking eggs directly into the composter because there were so many and I couldn't even give them away fast enough. My first chickens were ISA Browns and they are egg laying demons.
