It still remain in place today...
A fantastic photo showing the attempted demolition of the Zoo flak tower in Berlin, in February 1948, by the British Army. It took three attempts to destroy this tower, with the final demolition using 35 tons of explosives. The amount of work and explosives needed to remove these concrete behemoths made it unsafe and uneconomical, so many were simply left and remain in place today.
