I have long thought that one of the reasons the 'capitalist vs socialist' debate is so generally incoherent is that we don't have handy -ist words for these other options, eg a market economy without capital accumulation, or a command economy vs a communal one.
Maybe economists have these words already tucked away under their hats somewhere?
