generally no issue. And yeah, the warning system feels a bit over the top. If you hadn't spotted it already, if you hover on the triangle, then in the tooltip is the "updating" text which is a link to that project's setting, then you bump the ubuntu release.
One thing I'm not sure is whether it automatically deploys a new version there and then, or waits for a new push.
