I had a nightmarish number of ticks on me yesterday. The day was going amazingly. I hiked a section of the Metolius-Windigo Trail in the morning, explored some rough forest roads in the CRV for a few hours, then decided to take an afternoon hike up the northern-most MWT section. I was up near the Bear Valley Trailhead when I needed to tie my boot lace. Looked down and there were ticks all over my pants. I saw more ticks in the span of an hour than I’ve seen in the last three years combined.
