I’m going with mislabeled. The flavor is absolutely not French lentil, very strong flavor, googling makes me think is horse gram, which does need to be soaked and then pressure cooked.
The problem here is hubs and/or MIL buy pulses and put them in containers without labels. At some point, I’m like what is this but MIL who could I’d by sight is not here, so hubs and I try to figure out what it is.
This one was a miss.
