While it can be confusing when I see a lot of people really getting into something that looks superficial to me, I’m not going to *tell* them that and be the snobby outsider yucking someone’s harmless yum. It paints a target on you for one thing, but also just why?
There are too many things to pay attention to for me to waste my attention on something I don’t enjoy that’s just out there being enjoyed by other people. If a lot of people like it, I might take a closer look to see what I missed, but if it still seems meh, why not just move along with my bad self? Why try to make it about me? And let’s be honest, they probably just lack the imagination or empathy to see inner conflict and ways of resolving it as worth consideration and admiration.
