But a couple of months ago my Mum's village had a power failure (shortly after this upgrade). Her Telecare system failed immediately (yes we could get UPS) as did broadband access. Mobile phone ran out of juice later that day but the signal is poor there anyway. The power was out for two days. :( This is 21st century, 12 miles from the capital of Wales. Not good.
