A few weeks / months ago, I saw a swan in the Avon near the Oxford Terrace / Strip area. Went down to try to get clearer snaps of it, wondering why some lady kept poking it with a stick and kicking it away or whatever
Turns out a cluster of eels was being fed by a bunch of kids, and she was err... "teaching" them to respect them or something, while keeping that stick to presumably separate the kids and eels should anything go wrong I guess
First time I had ever seen them so close to the water surface, fins out, just rippling away there on the surface!
