I’m debating uninstalling all of my games on my entertainment computer, and only allowing myself to play them when I have a full day off or two to fulling enjoy them.

I turn to them for entertainment and easy fun or release when I’m struggling to find capacity for other things…but I’m starting to wonder if it’s part of what takes away from my capacity. I want to get back into reading and writing regularly. I want to color and do chill things when I relax. I want to get physically active again and do more things in the community…and this becoming the default entertainment my brain goes to feels like it reinforces me being alone and sitting at home.

And so much of the hobby comes from back when I spent a lot of time dissociating and escaping.

Has anyone else ever found this about their habits with computer games? Was taking a break for a while from them helpful? Has anyone developed healthier habits with them? Other thoughts?
