the CS curriculum was already a pile of shit back in the '70s. i hate to think of what has become of it now..
take something else, engineering or chemistry. or apprentice to a tradesman of some kind.
i learned it by running a pChem experiment on the chemistry department's PDP11. at one point even attacking the motherboard with a soldering iron to replace a malfunctioning chip.
